Mohammad Shoaib Memon – President
Mohammad Shoaib is the Chief Financial Officer at Europe Arab Bank (EAB) plc, part of the Arab Bank Group, one of the largest Middle Eastern financial institutions. Mohammad Shoaib has professional experience of more than 16 years and in his current role is responsible for wide ranging matters including strategic planning, financial reporting and control, taxation and regulatory matters amongst others. Prior to EAB, he was associated with Ernst & Young and KPMG.
Mohammad Shoaib is a fellow member of ICAP, ACCA and the ICAEW and has attended leadership program at the Harvard Business School. He is a member of the Financial Services Faculty of the ICAEW, Arab Bankers Association and the CFO Committee of the Association of Foreign Banks UK and is a regular speaker at conferences and events.
His other interests include cricket, golf, racquet sports and football and is an avid fan of Arsenal Football Team. He is also closely involved in a large project of higher education and health services in lower Sindh, Pakistan.
Najam is a senior executive with more than 18 years of diversified experience at senior level finance and risk management positions in various commercial banks in Pakistan and UK where he has been instrumental in managing crisis and implementing turn around strategies. Before transferring to UK in 2015, Najam was the CFO of Standard Chartered in Pakistan and also headed it as its CEO on interim basis. Currently Najam is overseeing credit risk management and reporting in finance in Standard Chartered UK.
He is a Fellow Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan, Certified Public Accountant (USA), Certified Internal Auditor (USA), has a degree in laws and holds a diploma in Islamic Banking and Insurance (UK).
Raheel Malik is a Senior Audit Manager at London Clearing House (LCH part of London Stock Exchange), which is one of the largest clearers of Equity, Bonds and Swaps in the world. Raheel qualified as a Chartered Accountant from A F Ferguson (PwC Pakistan) in 2007 and has 13 years of Global experience in Internal Audit and Risk Management at various Financial Institutions. Since leaving PwC Pakistan, he has worked at Ernst & Young (Ireland), Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi (London) as Associate Director.
In addition to being a Chartered Accountant, Raheel also holds the CFA Charter, FRM certification, a Masters in Economics and is a fellow member of ACCA. Raheel is a keen traveller and has visited more than 40 countries around the world. He is also an ardent sportsman and has helped the UK Chapter in organizing various outdoor activities including squash, cricket and hiking.
Saalim Mahmood is currently Chief Operating Officer at Habib Bank UK, a wholly owned subsidiary of Habib Bank, Pakistan. In his capacity as COO, he is responsible for Financial Control and HR. He is a highly accomplished senior finance professional with a strong track record in leading finance functions and conducting full-cycle project management throughout his career.
Saalim started his professional career with PwC Pakistan and is now a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan. Since qualifying in 1998, Saalim has held a number of senior positions, including the position Group Financial Controller at Habib Bank Pakistan, before joining its UK operations. Throughout his career he has motivated, mentored and managed multidisciplinary personnel and project teams in achieving outstanding business delivery on time and target.
Through his capacity for financial and cross-functional business delivery, Saalim has established himself as a leader in strategy and execution. With his in-depth business acumen he has formulated comprehensive business strategies and managed operational excellence. He is highly skilled in identifying process improvement opportunities and developing effective solutions to implement change.
Shomyl Brohi is the Group Treasury Manager at Premier Oil plc, a FTSE 250 organisation. Premier is a leading UK Independent oil and gas exploration and production company with Interests in seven countries around the world. In his current role, Shomyl is responsible for managing debt capital structure for the Group, assess financial risk and manage them and to ensure that there is enough liquidity within the organisation to fuel its growth and development.
Out of the seventeen years post qualification experience, Shomyl has fifteen years in the Oil and Gas sector in various locations and roles. Prior to that Shomyl completed his articles from EY Pakistan.
Shomyl has attended various technical and professional courses around the world. In his free time, he does volunteer work for a leading UK based charity, which does fund raising for its Pakistan operations. Shomyl is interested in promoting Pakistani arts in the UK. He is an avid reader and an art collector.
